Absolutely, you will have a face to face consultation with your hair transplant surgeon prior to your surgery. You will have the opportunity to discuss your hair loss history and your expectations along with your preference of your hairline. You surgeon will draw your hairline according to your facial measurements and mark different zones on your scalp to plan your treatment. He will not proceed before you agree on your hairline and treatment plan.

Hair transplant surgery takes around 6-8 hours and it is a team effort. Usually teams of 3-4 medical professionals work on your scalp throughout the procedure and each practitioner has a speciality of their own. For example the surgery starts with anaesthetics and this part is performed by the anaesthetics technician. Then the extraction of follicles is performed by the entire team. The following and perhaps most critical phase of the procedure is the incisions which is performed solely by the hair transplant surgeon. PRP is one of these procedures. In the PRP process a blood sample from the patient is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet concentration. These platelets secrete 23 distinct growth factors that are responsible for triggering cellular regeneration and regrowth while the plasma itself contains three separate proteins that act as a matrix for bone, connective tissue, and epithelial regrowth. The resulting concentrate of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is an extremely powerful and versatile treatment that can be used to help treat hair loss in three specific ways.
Originally, PRP was used in conjunction with surgical hair transplant procedures to encourage newly grafted follicular units to take root and begin to grow. How long will it take to see the results of PRP treatment?

The day after surgery
Gently but thoroughly wash the affected area to make sure there is no blood. Your donor site can be painful and probably numb.
Days 2 and 3
Medium redness in the recipient area can be observed. Some swelling may occur around the recipient area. The feeling of discomfort in the donor area is disappearing. However, numbness may continue.
Days 4 to 6
Swelling in the recipient area is going down, and the recipient area is getting better.
At the end of Week 1
The swelling must have gone down completely. Redness and other feelings of discomfort will disappear completely after the first week. Continue using your prescribed medicines to help your donor area fully recover.
Day 10
Your transplanted grafts are permanently fixed, and will not fall off. You can return to your daily routine. If you followed the post-op instructions correctly and took good care of you, the donor area must have recovered more than 70% by now.

It is crucial that patients keep their face and the donor site on the scalp as clean as possible to avoid infection and other potential side effects.
